Foreign pot workers not barred from entering US, CBP memo says

By Sarah Jarvis (May 10, 2022, 9:57 p.m. EDT) – A 2018 U.S. Customs and Border Protection document recently disclosed in a lawsuit filed by Davis Wright Tremaine LLP indicates that foreign nationals working in the legal cannabis industries are not inadmissible to the United States, despite statements to the contrary by CBP officials.

The law firm said Monday that an internal information guide issued by CBP regarding the legalization of marijuana in Canada recognizes that foreign nationals working in legal foreign cannabis industries are not necessarily inadmissible and should not receive a lifetime ban for attempting to enter the United States.
