Homebush man in cannabis car caught by cops in Bruce

ACT police seized 10 cannabis plants and $13,000 in cash after discovering a Homebush man driving a Honda Accord filled with black plastic and plants in Canberra late last month.

On Friday, July 29, traffic cops patrolling Bruce observed a Honda Accord that had a significant amount of black plastic in it.

The vehicle was stopped and when the driver exited the vehicle, an overwhelming smell of cannabis emanated from the cabin.

After confirming the driver’s identity and that he was not affected by drug-driving, officers found 10 cannabis plants in the vehicle and approximately $13,000 in cash in the front seat.

The 44-year-old man from Homebush, NSW was later charged with possession of more than 50 grams of cannabis and possession of property believed to be the proceeds of crime.

He will then appear in court in September.

Anyone with information about the sale and supply of illicit drugs in the ACT is asked to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via theCrime Stoppers website.
